A day with supernatural beings.

 (Halloween Special Part:1)

Imagine sitting in a room alone! Now ask yourself “AM I REALLY ALONE?”. We ought to believe that the world only comprises of human beings and animals. There are hardly people who believe in Aliens. We humans will trust any rumor on a person but would never believe in the existence of other creatures. Trust me they exist, we are just too skeptical to notice them.  

Do you really think that this whole gigantic universe is made only for your species? Open your mind and read this blog, you never know when you come across them. (In this blog, I won’t share the same theories/facts which you can find on Wikipedia or Google. But list down a few facts I believe in.)

What are supernatural beings?

The concept of the supernatural goes way back in time when there was no science to explain the occurrence of a few unusual activities. In the scholastic period, Thomas Aquinas classified miracles into three categories: "above nature", "beyond nature", and "against nature".  Though the phrase supra naturam was used since the 4th century AD, it was in the 1200s that Thomas Aquinas used the term "supernaturalis". 
 

People gave titles to things they were not used to seeing, which did not come under the definition of nature and the characteristics of things in nature as “supernatural”. The supernatural encompasses all entities, places, and events that would fall outside the scope of scientific understanding of the laws of nature, such as immaterial beings like angels, gods, and spirits. It also includes claimed human abilities like magic, telekinesis, precognition, and extrasensory perception.

There are a lot of things that we have carried forward from our ancestors, legacies that we still believe in. Why are there a lot of books, movies, and series still based on concept which is considered as non-scientific or declared fictional? Why does the audience still believe or enjoy watching them? Shouldn’t there be reasons and proofs to support these theories? Let’s see what I have got.

 

Humans are not as oblivious as they try to show. Religious beliefs of deities, angels, karma, hell, and heaven prevail in their minds. We firmly use the concepts of luck, faith, miracle, etc. in our lives which have no explanations or proofs. Supernatural beings are just like that.

VAMPIRES 🧛

Vampires, Dracula, Blood Suckers or predator, different names but one meaning, supernatural being who feeds on blood (mostly human blood). We all know a lot of vampires from movies and books like The Vampire Diaries, Twilight Saga, Dracula, etc. All the authors have given their vampires different weaknesses and power but when we look into the ancient folklore theories, they speak a different story.

The charismatic and sophisticated vampire of modern fiction was born in 1819 with the publication of "The Vampyre" by the English writer John Polidori.  Bram Stoker's 1897 novel Dracula is remembered as the quintessential vampire novel and provided the basis of the modern vampire legend, even though it was published after Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu's 1872 novel Carmilla. Dracula is the most discussed Vampire in the vampire fiction world.

So how do you know the person you are suspicious about is a Vampire? It is easy to identify a vampire, it should have pale skin, a beautiful body, and an attractive smell. Unlike us humans, for them they have to be beautiful and not their food. How to kill? Don’t trust the theories of staking with wood, garlic, or mirror, as different folklores contradict each other, but there is one thing common, cancer. For vampires or Dracula, the blood of a cancer-infected person is poisonous. So if a vampire is trying to attack you then tell him/her that you have cancer. Sun is the natural vampire detector.

How to Become a Vampire? You are too young to give up your mortality but still for knowledge purpose you can know if a dead body if not decomposed completely, if an animal especially a cat or dog have jumped over the dead body, or if the person died due to some diseases of suicide turns into a vampire. But these theories have no facts. Also our very own and favorite theory of ‘vampire bite’. 

Reading different articles and watching documentaries, I believe that even though people in those times came up with vampirism to hide mysterious deaths, the concept of Vampire would have been inspired by a real story, which is kept hidden from the world to protect both the species. I believe that Vampires are hidden deep inside forest areas which have dense trees to avoid UV rays and animals to feed on. So if you come across a vampire, don’t feel shy to contact me. WITCHCRAFT 

(The most worn Halloween costume)

If you haven’t watched/read the Harry Potter series, let’s not be friends. The most interesting supernatural creatures are Witches and Warlocks/ Wizards. You don’t have to give up your mortality but still have power (selling your soul to the devil for the power is yet a rumor). We all deep down know how much we enjoy watching movies, series, and cartoons on the magical world. But is magic real? And I am talking about spells and not the hand tricks which our magicians play.

If we study witchcraft history, we will only know about executions and witch-hunting. The witches who were executed were mostly young women, widows, or single women blamed for performing witchcraft on other happy families. They were accused of killing and causing diseases in the village to help the devil in exchange for sexual relationships.

By reading and watching these stories, I have concluded that this witch hunting was done to remove women who were causing trouble to the rich class of the villages. As people strongly believed in superstitions and Blackmagic in those days, it was easy to create panic and get executed by those women or men who the upper-class people hated.

They were locked in cages and chambers for days and weeks without food or water. Instead of getting tortured those women/suspects would break and confess being a witch. Ultimately their confessions were used to give death sentences. I always wonder, if they were witches, they could have performed some magic and spells and got themselves free. 

 
Watch “Witches: A Century of Murder” on Netflix and get detailed information about the witch hunt in Europe. Read articles about the Salem Witch trials. Even today, after having laws implemented on witch trials and executions, still people perform witch-hunting in villages.

Is witchcraft real? Do witches exist? I believe they do. Not everything can be explained by science. There are things beyond a human mind can think about, if there is good, there is evil, so if there are muggles there have to be witches. Many religions and their holy book defame Blackmagic, which means good magic exists! 
If there is any Polyjuice existing that can make me a witch I am ready to drink it. Witches and Warlocks if you all reading this, please DM me on my Instagram handle mentioned on the home page. Let’s be friends forever. The devil asks, “What is your deepest darkest desire?”, I say, “Make me a witch” (as far as I don’t have to serve the devil).

WEREWOLVES 

(The least worn Halloween costume)

There’s a full moon on 31st October 2020, do notice who is absent! Werewolves are considered to be men/women who can transform into wolves either on their will or on every full moon by force. The folklore of werewolves started during witch hunting, and news of cannibalism, wolf prayers, and wolf feeders started to come out. Rumors of old women with magic syrup who can help to transform you into a wolf started to spread. 

How do you know someone sitting beside you is a werewolf? The skin of the suspected person was torn to check if there is fur under it to identify a werewolf, they usually appear to be ill around nights when there is a full moon. The appearance of a werewolf in its animal form varies from culture to culture, though it is most commonly portrayed as being indistinguishable from ordinary wolves say for the fact that it has no tail, is often larger, and retains human eyes and a voice. They are rumored to be angry and strong.

How to save yourself from them? Werewolves can be killed by silver bullets but they eventually turn into human form. A werewolf can be cured by wolfsbane, exorcism, or surgery, is what our folklore says. Some say it is a curse, some say it is a punishment and few say it is the biggest responsibility. There were numerous reports of werewolf attacks – and consequent court trials – in 16th-century France.

A person in werewolf form doesn’t remember he is a human inside so if you see a werewolf around please hide or you won’t be alive to read my next blog! (PS: it’ll eat you, even if you are his/her friend). If you want to be a werewolf get scratched by it or try to be born into a werewolf family in your next life (because it is mostly genetics). But do you really want to break your bones while transforming?

So do they exist? If vampires and witches exist, then even werewolves can exist. I really hope werewolves and vampires are not natural enemies as they show. If any werewolf is reading this, contact me, and we’ll find vampires together!

ZOMBIES 

(If you dress up in a Zombie Halloween costume, don't meet me!)

These are the only fictional characters, I’d like to see in fiction and not in reality. The scariest and deadliest of them all. One bite or scratch of these monsters and you are in no time a part of their cult. One zombie is enough to end humanity(if humanity still exists). They are undead creatures with no brains.

Zombies can be created with magic or chemical. They rise from the dead as they are cursed to slave death. Science also talks about a few powders and chemicals that can be a way of creating zombies (keep that powder buried!). So if you encounter a magical zombie use salt and be ready with guns or sharp objects to insert directly in the head (What a headshot!).

These brainless creatures are assumed to sense your heartbeat and run to eat your brain. They are hungrier than you have been for your whole life. So if there is a zombie apocalypse, will surely meet each other in heaven (heaven because the one who reads my blogs are angels). 

Similarly many theories, concepts, and fictional stories exist about many other mystical characters; dragons, mermaids, unicorns, Pegasus, phoenixes, gargoyles, elves, fairies and etc. Wouldn’t it be magical to have them around? Or will it be the end of the human species if supernatural beings are discovered?

Watch as many movies, documentaries, and series based on supernatural beings. Read articles about them and open yourself to this world of magic and fantasy (I bet you would relate to the world you are living in with the world of supernatural monsters, both have monsters and powerless victims). “I believe Unicorns did exist in the old days. And for me, it is a creature who in itself is unique and motivates me to be unique. It also promotes self-love. As I saw in the movie ‘Unicorn Store’, a unicorn was always there to support the ones who think they are alone and becomes their imaginary friend. It loves people who are selfless and think good for others. There is a story of Huzur Sallallahahu Aliahi Wasallam riding a flying horse to protect him from enemies. It was said to be sent by Allah to help him. Hence, I believe there could be a world where such magical creatures exist.”

“Witch, I don’t believe in evil witches who fly on their brooms but in the stories of old women seeing or feeling such power near old trees. There should be something real and hence they came up with that theory. It may be a soul which is stuck in the afterlife. At times, I too feel something while walking on a road. They must be existing to protect us from evil. Due to development and urbanization, such stories are getting lesser and lesser but still in places which are underdeveloped could be having spirits around”. 

“Mermaids, I believe they too exist. They live underwater in their beautiful and colorful world around beautiful fishes. And because they have lived underwater they fear humans and never come up”.
